When I visited India for the first time, I was so fascinated with its colorful culture and tradition. The places where I have been through were fantastic. But aside from the beautiful façade, you couldn’t ignore too the real face of India. It is overcrowded in a lot of places and a lot of slum children around. I was wondering at first why are they not in school, I thought that there is free education in India. I felt bad when I learned that not all are lucky enough to be able to get that opportunity to study. I was kind of touched by their current situation, not even slum education for them. It is a pity that at such young age, most of them are on child labor because of lack financial support. I tried to find out more about helping in my own way but with me alone, it would he so hard.
Good thing I found out about Tarang, a Non-Government Organization that helps slum children with their education. I was searching for just an NGO in India and luckily found out their website. They are helping the people and children living in slums. A lot of educational and welfare programs for them too. Even giving free education to the slum children. I contacted them and they were so appreciative that I would like to be of assistance to them, I know I don’t live in India but I could still help them through a little financial assistance I give. I am sure enough that it will go along way to helping them.
